Experiences Using iPads in the Fall 2016 Semester

Thursday, January 12th | 11:00-11:45am CT | Truhlsen Event Center, UNMC
Session Type: Digital Poster Session

Project Tools Used:  iPads, eBooks and Apple TV

Project Summary:  We were awarded Innovation Funds from the COPH to purchase iPads and eBooks for the students to use while they are enrolled in the ENV 810/CPH 593 and HSRA 830/CPH 580 courses. The students were lent these resources for the duration of the class, after that, they will be available for future offerings of the ENV 810/CPH 593 and HSRA 830/CPH 580 courses. The students still had the option to purchase hard copy textbooks for use is the course, but they were encouraged to use the electronic resources. This was a demonstration project that will provide opportunities to educate other faculty in the COPH on how this technology can be used to improve the student experience, one of the COPH strategic priorities. Feedback from the students and instructors from the two classes will be presented along with some hands-on demonstrations of the technology used.
