Educause is a nonprofit association in the United States whose mission is “to advance higher education through the use of information technology”. Membership is open to institutions of higher education, corporations serving the higher education information technology market, and other related associations and organizations.
The New Media Consortium founded in 1993 by a group of hardware manufactures, software developers, and publishers who felt that the ultimate success of their multimedia-capable products depend upon their acceptance by higher education community.
1994 the 22 institutions involved formed a not-for-profit corporation.
2017 the NMC corp. announced Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
2018 the NMC was acquired by EDUCAUSE.
VidGrid is a video content system that captures anything on your computer, offers the capability of the creation of interactive surveys within the video, closed captioning and streaming of the video content. The system is integrated with Learning Management Systems (LMS). Videos within VidGrid can be edited, categorized into folders and even tracked with analytics such as how many views, who has been viewing, and which sections of a video were viewed.
